Actually excited for Monday

I just got an e-mail from Sarah. Her and A are meeting me and the kids at Monkey Joe's. I can't wait. A has never been there and I think he will have fun. Plus I'm excited to see him. I will have to take pictures to post. I should remember to bring my good camera so I can get some action shots. For those that don't know what Monkey Joe's is, it is a big bouncy house place. It has a bunch of bouncy houses with slides and stuff. They even have one for younger kids. M likes it but she likes the big ones too. Adults are allowed to go in and assist children under 4. Since M likes to go down the big slides but can't climb up yet, I get to climb up there with her (a good workout) and then go down the slide too. The one that we like has a HUGE slide and it feels like it is almost a straight drop. So fun!

Dear Wal-Mart

Dear Wal-Mart,
Next year when preparing for the large crowd of people on Black Friday, it would be helpful to the people spending money at your store if you would make it a little easier for them to actually buy things. First, it would be helpful if you set up some sort of a system for checkout lines. There was no order whatsoever and after standing in one place for over a half hour without moving, I decided that I didn't think I was even standing in line so I put my stuff down (not where I got them) and left. Second, it would be helpful if you educated/informed your poor employees. I saw one in tears because she was so overwhelmed by not knowing what the hell was going on. I overheard many people ask your associates several different types of questions and they were all answered with an "I don't know." One even said "I don't know, I wasn't told anything about today." I visited two other stores and they both had their shit together and were prepared for the mass chaos that is Black Friday.

Sincerely,
Never shopping Wal-Mart on Black Friday again.

So that pretty much sums up my experience at Wal-Mart. After I left there, I went to Kohl's and it was so much better. I could actually find the things I was looking for and when it came time to check out, they had clearly marked where the line was and it moved pretty fast. They even had someone that was standing there to help people into the right line once they got to the registers. I found several good deals at Kohl's and my shopping is almost complete. I also got myself a new knife set for $70 off. It was one of two that were left. I'm actually surprised that they had some left. I wasn't sure if I was going to buy it or not but I think the fact that there was some left was a sign that I should buy it.

When I finished I was getting hungry so I went home hoping that Rob would be getting up soon and would want to have breakfast soon. He was a little grumpy because he was awake and wasn't planning on getting up. So I just had a bowl of cereal because I couldn't wait. Sure enough, 10 minutes later he was up and wanting breakfast. He ended up just eating something small and we had the breakfast for lunch. I also had to say "I told you so" to him. The last time we were doing groceries I planned to get more syrup for him since he won't eat french toast without it (and I won't eat it with it). He said we didn't need to get it right then, he would get it later. Well every time he says he will get something later, he never does. So this morning he was starting to make breakfast and remembered that we didn't have syrup. After saying "I told you so," I offered to go get some while he cooked. Aren't I nice!

Our Thanksgiving was nice. We may not have had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and we may not have been with friends and family but at least we were with each other. He had to work until about 6 and then he brought home stuff for dinner. We had ham, fresh green beans, mashed potatoes and Hawaiian sweet rolls. If I would not have been so stuffed, I would have had some Pumpkin Pie. At least I had the option of having my favorite part of Thanksgiving. I did however miss Kyle's stuffing. I would have loved to be able to spend Thanksgiving with them this year. Maybe next year. Maybe I can talk Rob into going out to Maine for Thanksgiving too.
