Long but good day

On Sunday I got most of the stuff done that I wanted to. The only thing I didn't do was figure out what was going on with my scanner and upload more pictures. The cookies that I made turned out really good. Rob doesn't like them so I guess I get to eat them all myself.

Yesterday I took the kids to Monkey Joe's and met Sarah and A there. A had never been there before and he seemed to really like it. I'm so happy that we got to do that. I had a lot of fun and I think Sarah and the kids did too. Here is a picture that Sarah took of me with A and M (E wouldn't get in the picture).

M wasn't too happy that she had to share my lap with this strange boy but at least she wasn't trying to push him away in the picture. A is just happily sitting there thinking about who knows what; maybe what slide he wants to go on next. I miss that kid!!

Last night when I got home, Rob and I went out to eat. We went to Chili's because I really wanted chicken tacos but they don't have the ones I used to get anymore. It hasn't even been that long since we have been there, maybe a week and a half! Anyway, the waiter was nice and helped me change one of the ones they do have so that it was similar to what I got before. For the most part, they were pretty close. The big difference was the taste of the tortilla shell and the fact that it was grilled chicken (which is healthier anyway). I was in a really good mood last night but man were my legs killing me. I guess that happens when you lug an 18 month old up to the top of the slide a million and one times.

Today I took M to the library while E was at school. I got a book for myself and then we went to the children's section. Man was it a rough crowd there today. There was this boy that I've seen at the park a few times that yelled in A's face. He was being bad as usual and throwing and kicking toys and the mom/nanny was just yelling at him. I guess that explains why he thought it was okay to yell at A. There was also a nanny there that was sitting on the floor with her laptop while the kids just laid there next to her until she said it was time to go. M thought the little boy was the greatest thing though. She just stood there watching him. He noticed so he started making faces and noises at her. They just laughed and laughed at each other. The boy was probably about 3. It was quite amusing to watch. I did feel bad for them though because they weren't really doing much there other than sitting there while their nanny did who knows what on her computer. But I don't know the whole situation so I won't judge. There were a lot of other people I could write about but I think I'm getting bored of that for now.

This afternoon I took both kids to the mall. We saw the tree and Santa. Then we went to play. We didn't get to spend a lot of time there though. They seemed to have a lot of fun on the slide there. They would both go down at the same time which was really cute. I wish I would have brought my camera or at least taken a picture with my phone. It was cute to see them both come down the slide laughing and M's hair sticking straight up because of the static. I remember that from when I was a kid. I used to hate going down those types of slides because I would always get shocked. I guess these kids didn't mind too much. I did see a big spark come off of one girl when she was coming down the slide.

This evening I went to kind of babysit a new little girl. I'm going to have to think of some new nicknames for the kids instead of initials because her initial is A. Anyway, for now I'll call her A2. I will be babysitting her just a few times a month on weekends or evenings. She is a lot of fun. She is 2. Her mom stays home with her so she has never really been left with anyone else so this is new to them. We decided to kind of ease into it. I went there on Friday night for about an hour to just play with her while the parents were still there and it went really good. So tonight they left for just over a half hour to see how things would go and she did great! She didn't cry when they left (she was distracted by a new toy so that probably helped a lot) and she didn't get upset while they were gone. So since tonight went really well I am going to babysit again in a few weeks. We will do two nights in a row so that she can continue to get comfortable with me. She is a ball of energy and a lot of fun. I know I have only seen her a few times but every time, she is just so happy. It just really makes me smile to watch her.

So it is now almost 9:30 and I have only been home for less than an hour so I think I am going to relax for a little bit. I will have to post more pictures soon. I know I keep saying that but one of these days I will get around to it.
